About me

I am a storyteller, beginning with the “walk-around stories” I told as a child. Now, I blend storytelling with my love for technology, research and analysis.

In my current role as a Web Content Writer, 

Before this role, I created content for a 100,000-plus-page website. Our team shifted the site into Drupal from Adobe Experience Manager as part of a two-year project.  Every day, I communicated and collaborate with our campus partners to shift their content into the updated, mobile-friendly platform. I migrated and redesigned content for the College of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing, all while the university merges with Eastern Virginia Medical School. During the redesign, my work:

•  Doubled visits to specially-built pages highlighting programs for incoming high school students
• Cut by a third the calls and emails from current nursing students who couldn't find critical information.

I love what I do. My passions include:

• Translating complex science, health and medical concepts into relatable content
• Organizing, writing and designing content, and making it pop in branded structure
• Fighting technical-speak and buzz words in public websites
• Assessing AI tools, SEO, analytics and site performance to make data-driven improvements
• Training others to use web best practice and our content management system
• Advocating for accessible web content
• Listening to users to improve their experience

I love learning, and continue to pursue adventures, both professional and personal.
